IPSY Glam Bag Review – May 2018

You all have noticed by now that I am a HUGE fan of beauty products. Since I was a child I use to have a lot of interest on what my mother was putting on her face and wishing I would grow up fast to do the same.

I never get tired of trying out new products, test them in different occasions and let people know what I am using currently and recommend the ones I find as a keeper. This past few months have been crazy here, working on my book, working on different materials for the blog, consulting for a few beauty companies and traveling, and in the middle of all that I have to find time to fit in my exercises and cooking, after all I do enjoy taking care of myself.

Today, I would like to share with you that I have joined an interesting beauty community recently. I don’t know how many of you know a company called Ipsy. Ipsy created a beauty movement, where they inspire individuals to express their unique beauty, by sending beauty bags with products samples of different brands. This wonderful beauty community operates on-line, and also you can buy products on their web site. Once you have joined them for a $10 dollars fee, they will send to you 5 samples of beauty products based on your beauty profile based in a questionnaire you answer online with questions about your beauty preferences.

When you subscribe to Ipsy, they start sending 1 beauty bag every month, and they deliver to ipsters residing in the 50 United States, and Canada. If you live in the United States and is not aware of this beauty community, I recommend you take a look at Ipsy web site to find out more.

I started the subscription 2 months ago, and as I was traveling abroad I got to check the May bag in June, and I recently received the June bag also, which I am really excited! In this post I want to share with you what is in the May bag!

The May bag came in a very cute cosmetic little bag, with a few personalized samples based on my profile. Take a look at what they have sent:

EYEKO travel-size “Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – Line & Enhance”

This eye liner by Eyeko is great for those girls who have a lot of experience in using this type of eyeliner. It helps you to draw a perfect cat eye, giving you a lot of precision. As I am not a professional in doing cat eyes, I use it to enhance my eyes instead, just like an eyeliner. It has an intense carbon black color and it features a conditioning Tripeptide to enhance lash growth, which is great because it offers benefits.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – London

I remember I have seen this matte lip cream in a beauty store but I didn’t buy because I had the impression that it would be too drying for my lips. I was totally wrong! The NYX’s matte lip creams are so soft and yum! It is so hydrating that is addicting. Ipsy sent the “London” shade, which is a type of neutral color, and I can apply any time of the day because its a very discrete shade. The “London” soft matte lip cream smells and tastes delicious also, just like a chocolate cookie!

DOUCCE Maxlash Volumizer Mascara

I am new to Doucce’s brand. It’s a travel size black mascara that comes in a cute packaging. I usually have a problem with mascaras because they tend to kind of melt or crumble, and my eyes get stinging for the whole day. I am sensitive to a few formulas and I tend to buy the same brand over and over again to make sure that I don’t waste money with something that is going to give me a problem. I loved this mascara for many reasons, first because it didn’t cause any kind of allergy, it is easy to apply, and it extends the lashes making them look beautiful and fuller.

BEAUTE BASICS Foiled Eyeshadow – Satin Taupe

The eye shadow they sent me by Beaute Basics is called “Satin Taupe” and it is just gorgeous! I love the bronze neutral shade and it gives my eyes the sparkle that it needs. The day I tried this product I had to go to a meeting and it was very hot and humid. Even knowing that some eye shadows can give me allergies as they tend to melt due to hot temperatures, this one stayed put the whole day! I washed my face at night and I also had to take it off with the help of a micellar water as my facial cleanser did not do a good job. For this reason I loved this product, and I will be using it more often. Apparently, this eye shadow does not have fragrance, which is better for the eye area, less chances to cause an allergy.

TONY MOLY Painting Therapy Pack

I am a big fun of Korean beauty products since I went to South of Korea many years ago. They know how to make excellent products and you can’t go wrong with them. This “Sebum Control Black Color Clay” by Tony Moly is a mask that can be blended depending on the skin condition. I applied this product on its own and waited for 10 minutes, although the packaging says up to 15 minutes. The packaging is really cute and reminds me the painting tubes my mother used to by for me for my art’s class. What I find interesting about this particular mask is the nice minty smell making the whole experience very refreshing. The Painting Therapy Mask has a paste texture, is developed to control skin sebum production. I have sensitive combination skin and for me this mask was perfect! I love how it feels on my skin and the result is a very smooth and radiant skin.

Soon I will be publishing my review about the Ipsy June’s bag, so stay tuned!
